About HKFC Netball


As one of the finest sporting clubs in Asia, Hong Kong Football Club boasts superb facilities across a broad spectrum of competitive and recreational sports.

 

HKFC Netball has a total of five competitive senior teams and one social team, competing in the local Senior Ladies League run by HKNA. Our Junior Netball Academy program boasts over 13 teams, with both competitive and non-competitive teams in the HK Junior League.


Role Description


To be responsible for the development, management, operations and implementation of Junior netball program and strategies to achieve optimum success for the Junior netballers of Hong Kong Football Club. 


The Director of Netball will manage the coaching and administration requirements of the Junior netball section whilst utilising operational and technical resources to ensure success. 


The Director of Netball is expected to coach and also undertake the development and mentoring of part-time and volunteer netball coaches and umpires across the Netball DSA.


Responsibilities


Netball Program Operations & Coaching

  • Ensure the provision of quality coaching programs to all HKFC netball players

  • Be available for weekly training for Junior teams (Monday and Wednesday) and available for weekend Junior fixtures throughout the season

  • Motivate players and communicate effectively with them and their parents

  • Provide coaching & umpiring clinics and individual private coaching when applicable and necessary.

  • Assist with the organization of adult and junior Club competitions and tournaments/other functions at the Club as requested by Club Management

  • Any other ad-hoc duties that may be reasonably requested by the HKFC Netball DSA committee


Communication & Liaison

  • Liaise with the team captains, team managers, conveners and/or HKFC netball committee regarding any coaching issues to ensure effective and timely resolution

  • Provide brief monthly reports regarding team performance to the committee

  • Provide brief reports to training teams after matches highlighting strengths and weakness of games

  • Promote an open and transparent dialogue with Team Captains to ensure team harmony and cohesion amongst players

  • Attendance at all committee meetings

  • Attend HKNA Start of Season meeting and AGM

  • Establish relationships with key stakeholders of HKFC including parents of Juniors, Umpires and other sports coaches

  • Ensure attendance at a minimum of one Professional Development opportunity to ensure ongoing skill development as a coach as approved by the Committee 



Requirements

Qualifications and Experience

  • Relevant qualifications and/or equivalent experience: must have internationally recognised coaching qualifications


  • Netball umpiring qualification

  • Proven track record of success within Junior and Senior netball competitions

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience of managing programs involving Junior and Senior players


Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong leadership skills with proven success in managerial, organisational and strategic planning ability

  • Demonstrated ability to manage a budget in association with the Committee treasurer and HKFC

  • Understanding the needs of successful athletes and coaches including the role and value of sports sciences to achieve optimum performance outcomes

Personal Attributes

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate players, coaches and umpires

  • Highly organised and structured person with attention to detail

  • Commitment and drive for success

  • Evidence of undertaking professional development opportunities

  • Maintain honesty, integrity and compliance with the Constitution, By Laws, Policies and Procedures of Hong Kong Football Club and Hong Kong Netball Association

  • Possess effective communication skills, both verbally and in written form in English (Cantonese an advantage, but not essential).

  • Sound computer skills


Work Arrangements

The working week will be comprised of a total of 40 working hours, these hours will include evenings, weekends and overseas tours.


Remuneration

Competitive renumeration package which includes; MPF, Medical Insurance, Use of HKFC facilities, and food allowance.
